A LETTER FROM OUR DIRECTOR OF YOUTH PROGRAMS, ANNIE DELGADO

I’m excited to share some fantastic news that you helped us achieve!

As you may recall, last summer, we launched our inaugural Youth Media Academy in Oakland to inspire, train, and give voice to the next generation of content creators.

The young women produced three heartfelt films with poignant messages about body image, elderly loneliness and depression, and one woman’s immigration journey.

Drum roll for the good news…all three films have been accepted into at least one film festival! We’re super excited for the girls and incredibly proud of all the hard work that went into the films — it definitely paid off!

I could not think of a better time to be sharing this news with you as we honor these young women during Women’s History Month!

Together, we are inspiring a new generation of talented young filmmakers to find their voices and empowerment through media that shifts hearts and minds. Please take a couple of minutes to watch the films (links below). I promise your time will be well spent!
