April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a time dedicated to sparking dialogue and engaging communities in preventing sexual assault. In the U.S., a sexual assault occurs every 107 seconds. However, the media, university leadership, and national sports leagues continue to mishandle cases. We can make a difference as President Obama said in his Presidential Proclamation:
That’s why this week, we’re asking you to use these six tips to prevent sexual assault every day of the year, thanks to our partner Futures Without Violence. Together, by educating ourselves, sharing resources, and promoting healthy relationships, we can better culture so that everyone can fulfill their human potential.
