Join Matt McGorry and Us For A Free Screening of “The Mask You Live In”

In partnership with AXE, Unilever’s leading male grooming brand, The Representation Project is hosting #Unmasked: The Mask You Live In Global Tour with screenings in the US, UK, and Mexico. Together, we’re tackling outdated ideas and definitions of masculinity and the pressures to conform to these labels. We’re in New York City this Wednesday, April 19th with a screening of The Mask You Live In, a panel discussion with film experts, and an intimate conversation between Jennifer Siebel Newsom and special guest, Matt McGorry.

We invite you to join us: RSVP for our free New York screening or if you can’t make it, encourage the college students in your life to use our free university screening guide to host the film on their campuses. Because we need every college student to see the film! That’s why we embarked on this tour, engaging fifty campuses with screening toolkits and ongoing resources for students to challenge and overcome toxic masculinity. Now, more than ever, it’s critical that we help our youth overcome our society’s limiting cultural norms and redefine what it means to “Be a Man.”

Onwards,

Jennifer Siebel Newsom & The Representation Project Team

“I made a few suggestions in Adweek to Mr. Hardee from Carl’s Jr. on how to actually remake his brand, from one feminist to another, such as: ‘First, perhaps your next commercial could start in an office that has already pulled your old advertisements down, so we don’t have to stare at a woman’s barely covered crotch?’ I do applaud them for taking the first step. But I insist that they take many, many more. And until then, I am still #NotBuyingIt!” – Jennifer Siebel Newsom, via Adweek
