As CEO and Founder of The Representation Project, I get to meet and talk to a lot of amazing people about the work they are doing to create a more equitable world. But I continue to be most impressed and inspired by our young leaders.
Last month, I heard from two of our Global Youth Advisory Council members, Haley and Chloe, about their year with The Representation Project. They spoke of feeling safe because with The Representation Project they realize they are not alone. They spoke of feeling inspired because with The Representation Project they know that change is possible. They spoke of feeling empowered because now they have the confidence, the resources, and the network to use their own voices and be agents of change. And they spoke of feeling energized, ready to go out and empower more youth to use their voices to create a world where everyone can fulfill their human potential.
The more I listened to them, the more convinced I became that the path to a future without limiting stereotypes and gender norms is with our youth. And all of us can be a part of this solution.
That’s why today, The Representation Project is asking for you to join us. Our goal is to increase our Global Youth Advisory Council of 20 youth leaders to 100 next year and to train and empower these leaders to educate and equip 10,000 more youth to challenge limiting stereotypes and gender norms.
To support this, we are raising a minimum of $15,000 between now and the end of the year. Over the next eight weeks, we will be sharing with you stories from our youth leaders and those who empower them – all who inspire me! – starting with the video above. Because at the end of the day, it’s about our youth. It’s about creating a culture that lifts them up, recognizes their capacity to lead, and helps them fulfill their human potential.
We’re ramping up our work with youth leaders and trust you will step up and join us. Please, make your gift now.
