This week we give thanks, and at The Representation Project, we are particularly grateful for you, our community of supporters. Whether you watched one of our films, engaged with us online, hosted a screening, or directly invested in our work, you supported us in challenging the limiting gender stereotypes that hold us all back.
In many ways 2017 was a bleak year, but there is much to be grateful for (even hopeful for!), especially when I think of the young people who are moving the needle on gender equality. Last year, I got to meet Ava, one of our Global Youth Advisory Council Members on her way to our #DisruptTheNarrative Youth Leadership Summit.
Ava came to us by way of watching Miss Representation in her eighth grade classroom. For the first time, she could assign words to how she felt about the way women were treated in the media and why that limits us as leaders. She was immediately drawn to helping other women find their voice and joined The Representation Project in the hope of finding hers.
Next year, The Representation Project is bringing 100 more youth leaders like Ava into our council, and we are looking to you to help get us there. Please, make your gift now.
