ELIVIA SHAW

Elivia Shaw is an award-winning filmmaker and producer originally from Washington, DC. She is driven by filmmaking that uses intimacy and personal narrative to question our larger social systems and identities. Her short films have been featured on the Atlantic, Vimeo Staff Picks, Short of the Week and PBS and screened at festivals including AFI Docs and DOC NYC. Her short film, The Clinic, won the Grand Jury Prize at AFI Fest and was shortlisted for the Student BAFTA awards. Elivia previously worked on award-winning television series and documentaries for Al Jazeera, HBO and PBS including Al Jazeera’s Empire, Life According to Sam and Sky & Ground. She is a Co-Producer on the 2021 Sundance Film Festival selection USERS, directed by Natalia Almada. She holds an MFA in Documentary Film from Stanford University where she has also taught film production courses.
